Common Ethnic Sins:
1) Ethnic Hatred
2) Ethnic Pride
3) Ethnic Favoritism (or Partiality)
4) Ethnic Oppression
5) Ethnic Idolatry
“As the generation-long battle against urban prostitution and corner saloons disproportionately targeted immigrant communities (in the early 1900s), the generation-long drug war that began in the 1970s disproportionately targeted black communities. The peak of that discriminatory drug war came in 1986, with the passage of federal legislation that punished possession of one gram of crack as much as possession of one hundred grams of cocaine powder. (Most cocaine powder defendants were white; blacks were a minority of crack users but the overwhelming majority of crack defendants)” – William Stuntz- The Collapse of American Criminal Justice
Implications of the doctrine of justification for the area of ethnic unity.

The Doctrine of Justification:
• Equips Us to Address Ethnic Sin in the Church
• Exhorts Us to Acknowledge Our Own Ethnic Sins
• Empowers Us to Forgive the Ethnic Sins of Other Christians
• Emboldens Us to Call Out the Ethnic Sins of Our Own Group
• Encourages Us to Find Our Ultimate Identity in Christ
“The gospel is this: We are more sinful and flawed in ourselves than we ever dared believe, yet at the very same time we are more loved and accepted in JesusChrist than we ever dared hope.” – Tim Keller
